The Spring Seminar went great! “Tools, Traps, and Technologies” provided it’s audience with a great deal of information ranging from grease interceptors to the benefits of biodiesel. Our speakers covered topics on how to save money by avoiding city and county fines by properly treating a facilities wastewater, how to keep money in your pocket by reducing the frequency of interceptor servicing and maintenance, how to gain revenue from a lucrative commodity that is often thrown out in the trash, and how to increase business by identifying yourself as part of a growing network of sustainable businesses based here in Tucson and Southern Arizona! If you were unable to attend please stay tuned for our next seminar which will be coming this fall.

Also the debue of Grecycle’s very owe plant is quickly approaching! There are only a few last details before the plant will be up and running, producing a domestic fuel source located in Tucson, AZ. The fuel will be created from the waste cooking oil of the local restaurants and blended into the diesel used to fill your vehicle’s gas tank.

While Earth Day falls on Sunday April 22, 2012, Grecycle is celebrating our planet with the University of Arizona this Friday April 20, 2012 at Main Gate Square located at the cross roads of Park Ave and University Boulevard from 4pm to 8pm and again with all of the City of Tucson on Saturday April 21, 2012 at Reid Park from 9am to 2pm. Come join us and a number of other eco-centric companies as we explain why we love our planet and how we are working towards a more sustainable future!

Even though Phil the groundhog forecasted another 6 weeks of winter, Grecycle is gearing up for a busy spring, starting with its participation in the 4th Avenue Spring Street Fair in Tucson, AZ.  The event is to be held March 23rd to the 25th, 2012 along Tucson’s iconic 4th avenue from University Boulevard to the Underpass at 9th Avenue.  There will be over 400 arts and crafts booths for the public to visit and over 35 food vendors to choose from!  And keep an eye out for Grecycle’s grease recycling bins; they will be placed throughout the fair to collect the cooking oil used to fry, boil, bake, and bread the delicious food that is available to eat!  Remember, the collection bins are for grease only, trash cans and recycling bins will be in ample supple as well.  Let’s work together to create a fun, fresh, and free of trash environment for our fabulous Fourth Avenue Street Fair.

Saving the Earth does not stop there!  April showers may bring May flowers, but also begins another year to celebrate our planet.  Earth Day is April 22nd, 2012 and Grecycle is sure to not miss out on the festivities!  Friday April 20th, 2012, Grecycle will be in attendance at the University of Arizona’s Earth Day 2012celebration hosted by its Students for Sustainability on University Boulevard from 4pm to 8pm.  The following day April 21st, 2012 Grecycle will be with the rest of Tucson for the 18th Annual Tucson Earth Day Festival from 9am to 2pm at Reid Park.  Come join us and learn something about the great planet we call our home.  Find out about energy saving tips that can save you money and are easy to perform around your home, learn about healthy ways to live alongside your environment, and come learn about how Grecycle is working to create a better environment for its fellow Tucsonans and the rest of the world!

Get swept up in the high spirits that take the nation,
